Old Harry Kayaking is the Jurassic Coast at its absolute best. You’ll paddle beneath towering chalk cliffs, explore hidden caves and experience the iconic Old Harry Rocks from the water, all with a friendly Land & Wave instructor showing you the way.
We meet at Sandbanks Beach, get you kitted up with everything you need, then launch straight onto the water. From there, you’ll paddle along one of Dorset’s most spectacular stretches of coastline towards Old Harry Rocks. Every session is tailored to your group, so complete beginners and experienced paddlers alike can enjoy an unforgettable adventure.
Meet your instructor at our beach base in Studland, where we’ll get you to pick your kayak, buoyancy aid and paddle before introducing the session.
Before launching, your instructor will cover everything you need to know, from paddling techniques and steering to staying safe on the water. No previous kayaking experience is needed.
Once everyone’s confident, you’ll head out onto the water, paddling along one of the UK’s most spectacular stretches of coastline while taking in incredible sea views.

No. Our Old Harry Kayaking sessions are suitable for complete beginners as well as experienced paddlers. We’ll teach you everything you need to know before setting off.
The experience lasts approximately three hours, including getting kitted up, the safety briefing and plenty of time exploring the coastline.
Bring swimwear, a towel, water, old trainers or secure footwear that can get wet, and a change of clothes for afterwards.
Yes. We provide your kayak, paddle, buoyancy aid and all the specialist safety equipment you’ll need.
