Why Land & Wave

For 20 years, Land & Wave has been helping schools get their students outdoors.

We believe that some of the best learning happens when you step outside the classroom. When students are trying something new, working together, getting stuck in and discovering what they can do for themselves.

That’s what our school residentials are all about.

From coasteering and kayaking to bushcraft, climbing and team challenges, we give students the chance to experience real adventure in one of the most incredible outdoor classrooms in the country. Our instructors know how to make activities exciting and challenging while making sure every student feels included, supported and able to have a go.

We’re lucky to call Dorset home. The Jurassic Coast, beaches, sea, cliffs and countryside are right on our doorstep, giving students the chance to experience the outdoors properly, not just talk about it.

And we know that organising a school residential can be a lot to take on. That’s why we make the process as simple as possible. From your first enquiry, our team is here to help, take care of the admin and make sure everything is ready for your trip.

We want students to leave Land & Wave with great memories, new confidence and, hopefully, a love of the outdoors that stays with them long after they’ve gone home.

What people Say

Afternoon Jen I was delighted to have been able to run our trip again. Land and Wave never fail to deliver and this year the trip was nothing short of excellent with the weather also being on our side. From start to finish, everything ran like clockwork and we were lucky to have been assigned such great staff. Our camp leader was outstanding and it was her first school, so hopefully we didn't let her down. All the activities kept our group fully busy during the trip and I know so many have such memories of both the whole trip and the activities. Our site area for the week was neat and tidy and we had no real issues with sleeping arrangments. Food was great and plentiful so the little things just topped the trip. I would always recommend Land and Wave. Always so well run. Always there to help. Always in touch so just a joy to work with. Regards Michael

Our residential trip with Land and Wave was fantastic! Our Year 5 students enjoyed every moment, from paddleboarding on Swanage Beach to navigating the outdoor water park. Hattie, our group leader, was exceptional in organising a wonderful experience while also accommodating the needs of the children. We eagerly look forward to our trip next year, as we are sure to create even more magical memories along the Dorset coast.
