The adventure

Coasteering is the Jurassic Coast at its absolute best. You’ll swim through caves, scramble over rocks and jump from ledges into clear blue water, all with a friendly Land & Wave instructor showing you the way.

We meet at Spyway Car Park in Langton Matravers, get you kitted up in a proper thick wetsuit, then walk down through the fields to Dancing Ledge, one of the most beautiful spots on the whole South Coast. From there it’s straight into the good stuff. Every jump is optional and every route is adjusted to your group, so nervous first-timers and adrenaline lovers get an equally brilliant session.

Your session, step by step

1. Meet your instructor & Get changed

We meet at Spyway Car Park in Langton Matravers, just 35 minutes from Bournemouth and 2.5 hours from London. Your instructor will be there with all your kit: a thick wetsuit, buoyancy aid and helmet. We have a private changing facility where we can also lock car keys and posessions away.

A gorgeous 20-minute walk through National Trust farmland brings you to the coast. The first view of the sea from the clifftop is worth the trip on its own.

Your instructor covers how to enter the water, land your jumps and move safely around the rocks. Then it’s time to get wet, starting with easy entries so everyone finds their feet.

The main event. Work your way along the coastline jumping from ledges, riding the swell through gullies and exploring sea caves. Every challenge is optional and your instructor adapts the route to your group.

Peel off the wetsuit, warm up in the sunshine and head back up to the car park. Swanage’s pubs, chippies and ice cream are ten minutes down the road and thoroughly earned.
