Great fun has been had this week for all of those who have come on our Easter Kids Holiday Club. We’re not sure who had more fun, the kids or our instructors! We had an action packed week of fun and great outdoor opportunities. The sun shone and the rain (mostly) stayed away in the beautiful Isle of Purbeck. Not an iPad or xBox in sight for these boys and girls and we’re pretty sure with all that fresh sea air and exercise that we managed to tire them out for you.
Kids Holiday Club: Crabbing and Campfires
The Crabbing competition on the Swanage pier was exciting albeit a little breezy. It’s quite a climb for the crabs to make it up to the top of the pier, but the children were dedicated to their crabbing technique and the results paid off! Let’s hope they didn’t sneak them home as presents for you!
Everyone loves a campfire and this is where the children had so much fun. It’s lovely to be able to get back to nature and practise some bushcraft skills. All the children were very proud of themselves and had a go at toasting bread on the fire, wrapped round sticks. They dipped it in a little bit of jam for a scrummy snack. Sorry if we sent them home covered in crumbs and faces smeared with jam!
With wetsuits, buoyancy aids and safety briefing given, the challenge of coasteering was set. Chortles of fun echoed around Dancing Ledge as the the pirates and princesses were made to walk the plank! Ok well not quite, but they did take turns to climb up the rock face and launch themselves into the water below. Soaked from head to toe and still smiling!
Now for week two of the kids holiday club and we just can’t wait to see what fun it brings! If you would like to your child to take part in the next holiday club then please check out our website for more details or give us a call on 01929 423031 and speak to one of the team.
