Land & Wave is looking for new Senior Sales Executive to join our marketing team. We have tonnes of ideas we’re desperate to action, but there are not enough hours in the day!
SO – we’re hunting for a brilliant ball of energy to join our team to help us keep drive sales, manage our leads database and open up new business opportunities. If that sounds do-able then this is the sales job for you.
We want someone with previous sales or recruitment experience to jump into the role and start making an impact immediately. An appreciation for the outdoors, nature and adventure would be really beneficial. You’ll be directly selling this lifestyle as a career choice, so you need to feel the love.
Sales Job – The Team
You’ll join our Marketing Director and Marketing Executive (plus a tonne of outdoorsy people) in our office by the sea. We love the face-to-face approach, but appreciate that times are changing, so a hybrid office / work-from-home scenario could work or even a fully remote option with a monthly face-to-face jump in the sea could work if you’re driven enough to get stuff done. There’s lots of opportunity to be out and about a lot with the role, managing events that will help drive your sales targets. A drivers licence is preferable.
This Sales job offers a competitive base salary of £32K, with the option to top this up to £35K if you meet your on target earnings. You’ll be given very clear sales parameters, so this role would really suit someone who is target driven. On top of a potential £35K salary, you’ll also be eligible for our Profit Share scheme, free healthcare, trade discounts on outdoor gear, plus access to paddle boards, kayaks and climbing gear for your own adventures (we also have a load of lovely people who are always willing to head out on adventures after work, which is a huge bonus!)
Senior Sales Executive Job – The Role
Above all, we’re looking for a brilliant human, who can get stuff done. We like to action creative ideas quickly – no bullsh*t sign-off processes and endless meetings to get projects going. If it’s a good idea, we’re going try it. We generate 90% of our content in-house which is an important part of our process. This should make your role in sales really easy, as we can build bespoke campaigns to help generate the leads you need to meet your sales targets.
We need creative people who are used to thinking out of the box and can convert leads with a friendly approach – we’re not an agency. We don’t have agency-sized budgets. We don’t work like an agency. We’re really glad we’re not an agency. That’s important. The human approach is important to us.
If you’re after a sales job with masses of variety and opportunity to make your mark – this is it.
We love working in partnership with brands and cool people to help get our message out there. You’ve got to be a warm people person and have a keen eye for spotting a great sales opportunity.
Your role will be to drive sales across each of our adventure products and forge ahead with recruiting for our winter Outdoor Instructor Training programme. This winter training programme is a major part of our business, so this will be your baby to nurture. We get a tonne of people contacting us who are interested in a career in the outdoors. It’s your job to get them over the line and make the leap to change their lives for the better. Mentally and physically, the outdoor instructor is incredible – it’s your job to convince people to be brave and go for it.
Endless Sales Opportunities
The Outdoor Sector provides a never-ending stream of adventurous activities and multiple audiences to engage with and incredible landscapes. It’s a LOT more exciting than selling carpets.
You have to have a good eye for spotting a business opportunity at any given moment and making the most of it.
You need to be the master of spinning plates, managing a range of sales campaigns all at once. Here’s just a few engagement projects we have going on at any one time:
- Stag & Hen adventure campaigns
- Teacher-focussed School trip campaigns
- Environmental / sustainability projects
- Gender and ethnic diversity work
- Local community engagement
- Corporate team away initiatives
- Creative recruitment campaigns for our instructor courses
As an independent business, we work hard to utilise the easy wins in marketing to get maximum coverage without huge spends. This means nurturing mutually beneficial partnerships, using social media tools effectively and using events to help highlight our brand and ethos. The marketing team is there to support you and help you really maximise on any sales opportunities.
The majority of our advertising budget is utilised through social media campaigns, with facebook and Instagram and Google being our biggest area of spend to generate leads. We want someone who can manage a campaign and eek out the best from every marketing opportunity.
Sales job – Location
Our location is pretty special. We’re based in Swanage, Dorset, which is a coastal delight and marks the start of the incredible Jurassic Coast. We have sandy beaches, dramatic cliffs and caves, ancient woodland, meandering rivers and rolling hills all on the doorstep. If you’re looking for a Sales job that will enable you to escape city life, then it doesn’t get more idyllic.
Consider accommodation in Swanage for an easy stroll to work with a small town with a rural community feel. This is a traditional seaside town, which is busy in summer and beautifully quiet in winter. Easy access to country walks and seaside escapades is a huge bonus.
If you prefer a bit more of a year-round buzz, then Poole or Bournemouth is a great alternative just a 35 minute commute over the Sandbanks – Studland chain ferry or a 35 – 45 min drive depending on traffic and time of day. Ashley Cross, Penn Hill, Lilliput, Branksome and Westbourne are all areas in Poole with great cafe culture and easy access to the beach.
Sales job – Work Perks
We collectively celebrate the success of the company by offering all of our full time team company profit share. Dedication and drive is rewarded, so if we have a good year, we all benefit.
Physical and mental health is also really important, so you’ll also enjoy private healthcare as part of your package. This includes 24-hour access to online GP appointments, plus mental health support.
You’ll be able to enjoy hefty discounts on outdoor kit such as DryRobe, Palm and Typhoon, Fohn Outdoor and with frequent access to our many trade accounts. Plus we’re known to pepper staff with the odd apparel freebie from time to time!
Obviously you’ll also be surrounded by a lovely bunch of outdoor instructors who’ll be on hand to take you on adventures whenever you like too! Coasteering, Paddle Boarding, Climbing, woodland feasts – you name it we do it!
