Local Families – do you live by the sea but rarely dip a toe? Build your sea confidence with this fun, interactive sea skills session in Swanage Bay. Led by trained Beach Lifeguards, this is your chance to get really comfortable being in the sea, playing in moving water and enjoying the benefits of the ocean.

Parents and children can join in this sea session together (parent-child participation is actively encouraged!) and experience the push and pull of the waves, learn about how currents and wind can affect you in the sea and how to play safely. This is a fun session and you’ll learn some essential tips along the way. We highly recommend this for anyone wanting to visit the beach and enjoy the water.

This 1.5 hour Sea Safe Skills session includes:

– Wetsuit hire
– Intro to sea safety
– Interactive games to get you used to being in waves
– Confidence-building tips to enjoy the sea safely

About the ‘Purbeck Goes Wild’ Network

Purbeck Goes Wild is a fantastic collaborative network of over 30 local outdoor providers, charities, land-owners, schools and organisations who have joined together to commit to helping young people in Purbeck connect with nature and the Great Outdoors. By pooling their assets, resources and expertise, these 30 organisations form a powerful network, which can help children access nature much easier.

Championed by the National Trust and Planet Purbeck, the ‘Purbeck Goes Wild’ network is providing young people with numerous opportunities to access to nature in multiple ways.

Land & Wave celebrated the launch of the network with a jam-packed Family Bushcraft session back in October half term at Norden. They had an amazing turnout of 37 people visited us and explored the forest and mastered natural firelighting techniques.
