Land & Wave | Full Time Senior Outdoor Instructor Job | 2024 | Up to £30,000
Land & Wave is expanding – we’re looking for a Full Time outdoor instructor to work with us year-round on a permanent basis.
We’re looking for an enthusiastic, confident, professional, adventurous person who loves working with like-minded people in the outdoors.
Our instructors work an average of 40 hours a week across a range of activities and landscapes.
This role would suit an Outdoor Instructor who wants to get stuck into a full time role, lay down some roots and work within a progressive outdoor company.
We are based in the beautiful seaside town of Swanage in Dorset, with sandy beaches on the doorstep. There are tonnes of personal adventures to be had after work hours; climbing on the Jurassic Coast, sea kayaking around Old Harry Rocks, hiking around iconic site like Corfe Castle and coasteering at Dancing Ledge.
Most Land & Wave staff either live in Swanage or just across the water in poole. There is plenty of choice in terms of accommodation.

We’re looking for a genuine person who has a laid back personality, paired with a driven approach to work.
Problem solvers.
We’re very much a collective when it comes to driving the company forward, which is why we offer Profit Share to all our full-time crew.
We pride ourselves in adapting and being able to implement changes immediately – if something needs fixing / improving, we will sort it. No mile-long chains of red tape here – if you suggest something that would make staff or client’s lives better, then let’s get it done.
What’s it like to work for Land & Wave?
Summers are REALLY busy with school trips Monday – Friday during term time. It’s pretty joyous stuff being able to introduce kids to amazing activities and landscapes for the first time.
At weekends we welcome the revellers; Stag do’s, Hen Do’s, parties and groups of pals looking for a brilliant shared experience. It’s an energetic place to be.
We also keep busy with plenty of Duke of Edinburgh’s expeditions and Gold Residentials throughout the year, Kids Holiday Clubs and plenty of Scouts and Youth Groups.
Winter is a special time. While many outdoor centres shut, we thrive with a bustling Winter of Outdoor Instructor Training. Your winters will be spent coaching and mentoring trainees who are brand new to the outdoor industry. You’ll help them go from zero to fully-fledged instructors over an intensive 15 week period – it’s immensely satisfying.
We’d really like a skilled instructor who can meaningfully contribute to out Outdoor Instructor Training programme and help propel newcomers to success.
Please have a look through our website and socials before you apply: Instagram is a great visual sum-up of what we get up to.
