What Is The Big Swim?
The Big Swim 2026 is an annual dual-location sea swim event celebrating International Women’s Day (IWD). In 2026, the event returns bigger than ever before with two inspiring beach locations: Brighton and Sandbanks, Poole – united on Saturday, 14 March 2026.
From humble beginnings with 250 swimmers in 2023, to 1,000 women making a splash in 2025, The Big Swim is now the UK’s biggest sea swimming event for IWD, attracting passionate swimmers, supporters and ocean lovers nationwide.
As host partner at Sandbanks, Poole, Land & Wave is proud to champion women’s inclusion in outdoor adventure and empower every participant to take meaningful action for equality and community upliftment (is that even a word?).
