The Camp Job Overview

Love fresh air, fixing things, and the British weather? We’re looking for one or two people who’re looking for an energetic, outdoorsy role this Summer. Being handy with tools (or just really good at learning) is a bonus. From showers to tents, you’ll be the one making sure everything’s in tip-top shape so our guests can have a great time at camp.

Tent Movements

You’ll be managing our camping accommodations like a boss. Can you pitch a bell tent in less than 10 minutes? You’ll make sure tents are pitched just right. Keep those tents in great condition, and when it’s time to wash, reproof, or repair them, you’ll be the one orchestrating the inventory and keeping things orderly.

We Love Creativity

Got ideas to make our campsite even cooler? We’re all ears. If you see something that can be improved, you’ll have our full support to make it happen. You and the team will play a pivotal role at the beginning and end of season, prepping for the camp season’s start and wrapping things up like a pro at the end.

About Land & Wave

We’re Land & Wave, an adventure company that’s been playing in Dorset for 17 years. We give people epic outdoor experiences (and we’re pretty proud of it). Nearly 100 schools join us every year for adventures in the great outdoors, and we’ve got a 15-week Outdoor Training Academy where future outdoor instructors earn a whopping 23 qualifications. Exciting, right?

The Skills We’re Looking For

Must-haves:

• A valid driving licence (you’ll be driving in our company vans / truck)
• Be able to smile and chat with kids and teachers 
• Be happy to serve breakfast / dinner to our camping guests
• Be able to work with energy and intent – there are A LOT of tents to move and pitch

Nice to have (but not a deal-breaker):

• Carpentry wizardry
• Plumbing powers
• Electrical know-how

Perks and Free Stuff (Yup, Free!)

You’ll get 3 days of paid training, including:

• First Aid Course (in case someone’s DIY skills don’t quite match yours)
• Safeguarding Training
• Manual Handling (because you’ll be lifting more than just spirits)
• DBS certificate (to keep things official)

You’ll be welcomed into the Land & Wave crew, and be invited to a load of social events such as BBQ’s, beach parties and other get-togethers.

• Affordable local homestay accommodation
• Fancy camping at our site? 
• If you’re a couple looking to work as a duo, we can offer FREE accommodation (you bring the motorhome, we’ll provide the pitch)
• We’ve even got a cosy double room with a kitchenette for rent – perfect for couples.
• Looking to house-share? We’ll introduce you to like-minded adventurers.

Couples Welcome

We’d especially love to chat to any dynamic duos who want to spend their summer together summer living in their van / motorhome and earn some cash while they’re at it.
This is a brilliant opportunity for a couple to enjoy the  amazing hospitality of Swanage, Dorset. It’s an amazing place to enjoy a summer season, with a different festival happening every weekend.
We have two roles available (1 Camp Crew position and 1 Camp Cleaner position), so if you fancy joining us with your other half – let us know.

We have a FREE motorhome pitch available all summer for the right pair (sorry no caravans).
