Land & Wave is a thriving independent adventure activity centre based in Swanage, Dorset, with over 12 years experience of training people to become excellent outdoor instructors. We pride ourselves on providing action-packed experiences ranging from school trips to stag parties both on land and sea. Our training academy has paved the way for hundreds of people to launch happy, satisfying careers in the outdoor industry. This is our second year of running an Apprenticeship – following a hugely successful cohort last year.

Level 3 Outdoor Activity Instructor Apprenticeship – the details

If you love the outdoors and want to pursue a career in it, then this apprenticeship scheme is the perfect opportunity to dive into something that actually sets your world on fire. During the 12-13 months you’ll gain 14 (NGB) qualifications PLUS a wide range of in-house qualifications too, which will bolster your skills in instructing and managing groups of all ages.

You’ll train alongside three other apprentices for 2023/24 and meet plenty of other aspiring outdoor professionals as they start their career in Outdoor Adventure.

Apprenticeship

Our apprentices from last year are now working as fully qualified outdoor activity instructors this Summer- what an achievement in such a short space of time! They are now armed with professional qualifications that they can use across the UK and worldwide.

Many of our past trainees have gone on to work all over the world including: Australia, New Zealand, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Cyprus, China, Scotland, Ireland, Canada to name a few.

Requirements:

-Grade 4 / Grade C equivalent in GCSE Maths AND English
-Driving license and own transport strongly advisable
-Energy and desire to be outdoors (in all weathers)
-Strong work ethic
-Aged 18+ (no maximum age)

Accommodation is NOT included for the duration of your apprenticeship, however we can provide FREE camping accommodation from May – September if it’s helpful. You will need to get to Swanage each day Monday – Friday 08.30 – 17.00.

Holiday: 28 days paid holiday
