The Big Swim 2025 is a community event taking place in Poole AND Brighton on Saturday 08 March to celebrate International Women’s Day. Land & Wave is hosting The Big Swim in Sandbanks, Poole and PinkNicky is hosting the Brighton event. We’re so bloody excited!
The Big Swim is a not-for-profit event aimed to shine a light on International Women’s Day and female equality. We really want you to celebrate with us by jumping in the sea on Saturday 08 March 2025. The Sandbanks event is ticketed but completely FREE and all participants will be entered into an incredible prize draw.
Land & Wave is working with some amazing companies and organisations, who are supporting The Big Swim, Sandbanks – many of which are providing amazing prizes for the participant prize draw.

Dorset mum, Leila, is a powerhouse when it comes to bringing local women together. Her ‘Absolutely Winging It’ community mission is to ‘build a village because we’re all absolutely winging it!’. She moved to Dorset as a new mum 5 years ago and was looking to meet mums who were juggling life and kids. Her knack for bringing people together has led to her building a huge community of Dorset mums. She now plans regular parent-friendly events, such as epic Family Roast Dinners complete with child entertainment and glitzy evening events for mums. Mum-friendly retreats are on the horizon too.
