Tatty Pettigrew has dumped the cooperate lifestyle and has taken on the adventure of a career in the outdoors.
Introducing Tatty Pettigrew! She’s an incredibly brave and inspiring woman who turned her dream into a wonderful reality. Fuelled by an unwavering spirit and a deep love for the outdoors, Tatty decided to break free from her corporate career in London. Her journey has been nothing short of remarkable, as she brings together people, education, adventure, and the wonders of nature in a truly special way.
As she was growing up, Tatty was quite sporty, but she never really thought of herself as someone super outdoorsy. However, everything changed during her teenage years when she got involved in the Duke of Edinburgh Award (DofE). That experience turned out to be a total game-changer for her! It was like a magical moment that ignited a passionate spark within her.
How It All Started
From that point on, Tatty became a true advocate for the DofE program. She wholeheartedly believed in its incredible power to shape young minds and in still a deep love and appreciation for the great outdoors. Since then, she’s been on a mission to inspire others, especially young people, to embrace outdoor adventures and discover the transformative magic they hold. Tatty’s journey is a testament to how a simple, meaningful experience can completely change the course of a person’s life and lead them to become an enthusiastic champion of something they once might not have even considered.
It all started with her genuine curiosity and a quest for self-discovery. Tatty knew that stepping into a new world would require careful consideration, so she embarked on a heartfelt research and soul-searching adventure.
For two whole years, Tatty dove headfirst into learning about outdoor adventures and all the possibilities they held. With her meticulous nature, she left no stone unturned, exploring different activities, destinations, and opportunities that the outdoor world had to offer. She wanted to be absolutely certain that she was making the right decision, as venturing into the unknown was no small feat.
Throughout this process, Tatty’s family played an essential role. They lovingly supported and encouraged her every step of the way, understanding the importance of this journey in her life. Their unwavering belief in her abilities and dreams gave her the strength to keep pushing forward, even when faced with uncertainty.
Tatty fearlessly took the plunge, committing to our Outdoor Instructor Training Course. With full immersion into her new career, she acquired valuable qualifications and learned new skills, all while stepping out of her comfort zone. The course became a transformative journey, pushing her to embrace challenges with excitement. As she connected with fellow participants, a supportive community formed, cheering each other on. Tatty’s decision led to a fulfilling career, aligning perfectly with her passions and aspirations. Through dedication and enthusiasm, she blossomed into a confident and capable outdoor instructor, embracing the wonders of nature with open arms.
Freelance Work
Tatty started as a seasonal instructor from the breathtaking landscapes of New Zealand and volunteered for a children’s charity, Tatty’s experiences were like a whirlwind of adventure and fulfilment. Each step of the way, she soaked up valuable knowledge and skills, making her journey all the more enriching.
As time went on, Tatty discovered the beauty of freelance work, and oh boy, did she love it! The flexibility allowed her to follow her passion, seizing exciting opportunities wherever they arose. It was like she was crafting her own path, one that perfectly fit her adventurous spirit and love for the outdoors. Through sheer dedication and hard work, Tatty built up an impressive portfolio of clients who admired and valued her unique approach to outdoor exploration. With each project, she poured her heart and soul into delivering unforgettable experiences, leaving her mark in the industry.
A great way for women to get involved and kickstart their career in the outdoors is the Outdoor Instructor Training course, this course is open to anyone and Tatty encourages more women to sign up and start their careers in the outdoors as an activity instructor. The course is over 15 weeks and you gain 16 Qualifications that will really fast track you into a career in the outdoors and become an outdoor instructor as well as give you the chance to meet other likeminded inspiring women.
