If you'd like the chance to get fit and start some adrenaline flowing while you're at it,  head to Wales for some spectacular mountain biking.

5 great UK adventure locations

If you want to try out some adventure sports, there are plenty of great locations that offer everything you could want from a UK adventure. There are wonderful landscapes all over our wonderful island where you can push yourself further than you ever thought possible. Check out these great locations:

????????????????????????????????????

Wales (obviously!)

If you’d like the chance to get fit and start some adrenaline flowing while you’re at it,  head to Wales for some spectacular mountain biking. There are some amazing single track challenges that will most definitely get your heart pumping and your head buzzing. If mountain walking is more your thing then the ‘Welsh 3000’ challenge takes in 15 peaks of over 3,000ft; kicking off below Aber Falls, conquering seven peaks on your first day and finish by tackling Snowdon on your last day, at a mere 3,560ft!

????????????????????????????????????

Cumbria

Have you ever climbed down a waterfall? If not, then give it a go, it’s an experience you will never forget. Canyoning may not be a massively well-known sport but fans of adventure sports have been enjoying it for ages. You will abseil and climb down stone gorges carved out by thundering water over thousands of years and contend with chutes of white water while sliding down rapids and hurling yourself into a plunge pool.

????????????????????????????????????

Yorkshire

If off-roading is how you get your kicks then treat yourself to a fantastic 4×4 driving experience that will also take in the spectacular views from the cliffs above Robin Hood’s Bay. This is the ultimate all weather day out and is great for all ages, even children aged 10 or over can get behind the wheel.  The site offers a huge variety of obstacles and terrain to tackle. You will be clambering over rocks, climbing crazy hills and splashing through mud.

Gloucestershire

For adrenaline junkies who enjoy life on two wheels, head to the Cotswold’s where you can hit no less than six downhill mountain bike tracks. There’s also a 4X track that is world cup standard and a two acre dirt jump arena. You don’t even have to put the bikes away when it rains as there are two indoor riding areas.

????????????????????????????????????

Swanage

Swanage in Dorset is one of the UK’s best kept secrets for adventure sports. With a backdrop of some of the most spectacular scenery in the country, it has dedicated activity companies offering you the chance to take part in some epic adventure activities.

Start your kayaking adventure with a 2 hour tour cruise around Swanage Bay and enjoy some mackerel fishing and a swim (or two). You can’t come to this part of the country without exploring the Jurassic Coast and there is no better way to do it than scrambling along the coast and then hurling yourself into the sea. Coasteering!  No matter what you are looking to do, you will always be able to find something in the Adventure Capital of the South West…
