George Rogers Update

Dorset schoolboy, George Rogers updates us with his para swimming progress

Hello again everyone!

I’d like to start off by saying sorry for the time gap between blogs; I’ve been really quite busy with swimming and school but now I’m back and ready to tell you all what’s been happening.

Firstly, I do have to mention some bad news. I’ve developed a condition actually called ‘Swimmer’s Ear’, which is a very painful middle ear infection. It started last Wednesday and unfortunately, has meant that I haven’t been able swim for a week (so frustrating!). I should be able to get back into the pool all the way through half term though. This should give me sufficient training time to get all the way to peak fitness ready for national championships in Sheffield in three weeks!

Yes, you did hear me right, national championships number two this season is in just three weeks! How did it come around so fast? This time, I’m only swimming three events rather than four.  This will give me more of a chance of improved times as I should, in theory, have more energy which is always good! I will hopefully have a blog telling all of you guys how it all went at the latest, the week after the meet.

To finish off, I would like to say a massive thank you to Jen Challis and herstudents in year 6 at Pokesdown School for following my progress and messaging me on my blog… THANK YOU GUYS!

As usual thank you to the guys at Land & Wave for sponsoring me and keeping me as their guest blogger!  Thank you all so much for following my progress and I look forward to keeping you updated about nationals in Sheffield.

George.

P.s: I would like to say well done to all of the athletes in Sochi and especially the Paralympic athletes making their way out there at the moment. Everybody make sure you tune into the BBC coverage of the winter Olympics and the Channel 4 coverage of the winter Paralympics!
