Bushcraft – The Ultimate Hen Party

Our best staff, a great location, the best of our woodland adventures combined with some excellent local food and drink from Crab Apple Catering.

How our ‘Hens in the Woods’ Hen Party was born

2017 was the start of a boom for woodland activities, loads of gents joined us for fire lighting, axes throwing, archery, deer butchery and loads more.

Our Ultimate Stag became so popular that we had to limit the number of bookings we took from 2018 onwards.

Every group that joined us in the woods had an excellent time, we got some great feedback, we shared photos and videos, we kept getting asked why we didn’t offer a similar Hen Party deal.

Roll forward to 2023 and we’re finally seeing the female interest in woodland activities gaining traction, with more Hen Do bookings opting for an adventure among the trees.

The Ultimate Woodland Hen Do Party

We’d love more women to join us in the woods. Bushcraft and being in the great outdoors is brilliant.

We got our heads together during the cold, dark days of winter, we came up with a Hen Party plan – Hen’s in the Woods…

We decided that if we were going to inspire women to throw axes, light fires and get dirty knees then we’d need to offer a hen do activity that had a little more polish.

Our best staff, a great location, the best of our woodland adventures combined an excellent local Cream Tea from foodie-hotspot, The Salt Pig.

Three hours of: Axe Throwing, Fire Lighting, Archery followed by an excellent Dorset Cream Tea laid out in the woods is a pretty special way to celebrate a Hen Do.

Unique Hen Do Experience

Unsurprisingly there are lots of women who don’t want a Hen Do heavy on the cheap prosecco, willie straws and sparkly sashes – they want something a little different, a little more classy and unique.

An afternoon in the woods is a superb way of spending time together; plenty of epic photo moments, a real sense of achievement and lots of shared experience (which is what it’s all about).

Our instructors are great, they’ve got loads of experience working with lots of different groups, teaching people and helping them have a good time.

Hen’s in the Woods logistics…

All of our woodland sites are just a few minutes from Corfe Castle in Dorset; about 30 minutes from Poole or 45 minutes from Bournemouth. There are regular trains to Wareham which is just a 10 minute cab ride away.

Lots of our groups join us for a morning or afternoon in the woods and then head over to Bournemouth for a night out. Bournemouth has LOTS of hotels, restaurants, bars and clubs.

We’re really close to the beach if you fancy a few hours soaking up the sun.

Come on Ladies – Break the Cycle

Most of our adult clients are men:

90% of our coasteering clients.
95% of our bushcraft clients.
80% of our kayaking clients.

We don’t really understand why, adventure is great for everyone – good for mind, body and soul.

If you fancy a Hen Do with a difference then it might be worth trying Hen’s in the Woods. Land & Wave works hard at customer service – we’ve got some great reviews that we’re really proud of.

We decided that if we were going to inspire women to throw axes, light fires and get dirty knees then we’d need to offer a hen do activity that had a little more polish.
